Why This Guide
This guide is written as a reminder for students who were working with me on the Avalanche Rescue Robots, another grade six project. We had a lot of trouble getting Bluetooth to work reliably for us. I hope you can benefit from our pain!
Two student teams worked together, one team taking on the role of the searching robot and the other team taking the role of the rescue robot.
The searching robot had to go on a grid pattern to find a person, back up and signal the rescue robot. The signal was sent over Bluetooth radio (built into the NXT robots) and included the steps up the baseline and how far from the baseline they travelled. The rescue robot had to follow these instructions to get to the skiier.
